A holiday Rex Ryan has been spotted and photographed Thursday sporting a tattoo of a woman who appears to be his wife, wearing a green jersey with Mark Sanchez # 6 on it and posing in a way that many would say it resembles a crouching Tim Tebow.
A shirtless Ryan, sunbathing by the pool Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, quickly left the scene with his wife, after being approached by a journalist.
According to an article in the New York Daily News New journalist Ryan condemned as "stormed out", but not before the image was captured by Ryan in the prone position with a book in his left hand with illustrations of the upper arm. Moreover, it is a green clover tattoo with the name of his wife and children.
There is no indication in the report if the tattoo is permanent, but people close to Ryan told ESPNNewYork.com 's Rich Cimini that Ryan "has been for years." Some people in the Jets organization 'know, but not much, the source said. Even some of the assistant coaches apparently do not know.
Sanchez was drafted by the Jets fifth overall out of USC in 2009, four months after Ryan was hired as coach.
Ryan took a trip to the Bahamas, as the Jets prepare to begin interviewing candidates for the general manager and the coaching staff in limbo. Ryan and his assistant coaches have a week off.
Ryan and owner Woody Johnson has come under fire because it was not available to discuss the disappointing season and Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum recovery. The team announced Wednesday that Ryan and Johnson will perform "end of season" press conference - nine days after the season ended.
